What's been happening at LCD?
So many exciting things have been going on at my barn this past month!
First and foremost, my most exciting news is to announce the addition of a one month old colt to my equine family.
(EM Raleska's 2016 Floriscount colt)
Thank you Runningwater Warmbloods!
We had a fabulous show at the Fiesta of the Spanish Horse at the LA Equestrian Center. I got to earn the highest score of the day (72.8%) with an elusive 10 for a perfect halt in my Level 1 test 3 on the gorgeous C-Max (owned by Romana Hartke). Bettina Martin and Moonlight Sonata (owned by Yasmin Zafar) had a gorgeous ride in the Level 1 open test with a score of 64%, placing them 4th in an open class that included trainers.
C-Max continued to shine at Hansen Dam where he took the honors of Lower Level Open High Point Champion!
FJ Ramzes (owned by Wendy Sasser) was overall High Point champion at El Sueno finishing with a 74% at 2nd Level test 3.
We then headed out to Del Mar with Winter’s Star and FJ Ramzes.
Winter’s Star and I placed second in the FEI Intermediare test of choice class.
On Saturday, FJ Ramzes and I won 2nd level test 2 with a 69%, and then got a 70% and placed 3rd in Level 2 test 3!!
On Sunday, FJ Ramzes made me so proud when he placed us 1st in the Second Level sweepstakes class with a 71%.
Finally, we just got back from a wonderful weekend at W Farms for the CDS Jr/yr clinic where my assistant trainer Bryce Quinto rode her magnificent Oldenburg gelding Djedefre.
These clinics are so important because the junior riders are the future of our sport.
Charlotte Bredahl was fabulous as always. The folks at W truly outdid themselves and DONATED stalls and shavings for the weekend.
In other exciting news, I have been working with Kristin Kruse Madsen starting her 3 year old “I M Starlord” (a.k.a. Quill ) under saddle! We are so thrilled to report that in just a few short weeks, Kristin has not only mounted and walked her boy, but also trotted him! He is a darling, and I can’t wait to see this pair develop into a dream team!
